Japan Book Club: Hiroshima – part 2
Chapter one of Hiroshima gave us a look at six different individuals as they began their day, a day that would change the world. This week we’ll read chapter two. In this part of the book, it shows how the survivors react to what has happened.
Most of them are unable to comprehend the bombing, since the “all clear” signal had been given, they hadn’t heard multiple bomber planes in the air, and they had no idea that just one bomb could have caused this much destruction.
This week, pay attention to what the six characters in the book are doing. In just a few sentences for each character, tell us what they do in the moments/hours after the bomb drops.

Overall, all of the six people were dazed and confused on what had just happened them and Hiroshima. Each one either wanted to help others or find family, or help their own family.
1- Dr. Fujii helped others, he bandaged them, and tried to help in any way possible. It was hard because most of the hospital supplies was scatterd, broken, and destroyed.
2- Father Kleinsorge also tried to help others, he mostly help fellow priests.He helped people who were in the park that was across the river, although he could not care to others wounds.
3- Mrs. Nakamura helped he children mostly. None of them were severly injured, just a few bruises, no scratches or cuts. She made her way to the park (safe zone for her neighbor hood). She stays in a small bambo area with her children.
4- Dr, Sasaki helps others, he gives them water, bandeges them ,etc. He is looking for his wife, and later finds them with his infent son. He and she depart and he gos to help more people.
5- Mrs. Sasaki arrived home from another town just in time for the bomb to drop. Her and her child were under debris, and she sees a small light so she starts to dig. Half an hour later she can get her baby out and she follows after. She finds her husband across the river and they depart after a short while.
6-Rev. Tanimoto is whith other priests,most of the time. He made his way acroos the brige to cheack on his family and church. He saw all of the injured and was upset that they had to go through pain and he was perfectly fine. Fires made him turn around when he was going to his church.
i like how in the begining you told how every one was dazed and confused.
Its areally shows how much people respeted eachother when Mr. and Mrs. Sasaki departed from eachother after being separated for so long. Even with separating, they didnt separate to keep safe, they did it so Mr. Sasaki could help other wounded people.
I agree with Kevin, the beginning was unique and it told what feelings that all the characters had in common.
I too agree with both Jessica and Kevin. I liked how you started the response rather than starting with the list of answers. It sort of helped sumarize what all of them were feeling.

Who do you think did the most/best thing they could do in the few minutes after the bomb hit?
1. Dr. Fujii tried to help every patient he could and bandage them, but his equipment was broken, giving him trouble to do so.
2. Father Klensorge like Dr. Fujii tryed to help other injurned, but the majority of them were fellow preist.
3. Mrs. Nakamura helped her children with no sever injuries and took them to the park the safe zone for her neighborhood.
4. Dr. Sasaki helpsn others by bandaging tham and giving them water, but he was searching for his wife which he later found then they split up to help other wounded.
5. Mrs. Sasaki arrived home by the bombing time and found her children under debris and starts digging to eventually find her baby. She thens mets up with her husband and departs shortly after.
6. Rev. Tanimato was with other priest. He then journeyed across to find his family and church, but fires force him back.
I think you did agood job on describeing what dr. Sasaki did after the explosen.
It is interesting that everyone was helping someone, either they were helping strangers, or they were helping friends and neighbors. It really shows the sympathy that people had for one another.
I agree with you Sydney, each person was helping someone, and had lots of sympathy.
I agree with Sydney strangers were helping other strangers and that shows that the country is one and , like Sydney said , also the sympathy they that they had for another
I agree with you Syd, I mean we’d all love to say that if our lives were threatend we’d help whoever we could, but the reality is that we dont know. But these people tried their best.
I find it interesting that most of the characters helped others rather than themselves.
1. Dr. Fujii tryed to help the patientsd at the hospital but most of the equiptment was broken or was thrown all over the place so he had problems when he was trying to help them.
2. Father Klensorge tryed to help people also, however, most of them were preist.
3. Mrs. Nakamura elped get her children out from the ruble of their house, none of them were siverly ingered.
4. Dr. Sasaki helped other people by giving them water and bandeging them. he finds his wife and infent baby they go in diferent directions to help more people.
5. Mrs. Sasaki got home from another town just in time for the bomb to hit she finds her children under debris and digs untill she finds her baby. she then meats up with he husband and the depart.
6. Rev. Tanimato was with other priest most of the time but went to find his family an church, however, fires forced him back.
It’s a great thing that all of the survivors mainly cared for others and wanted to help them after the bombing.

1. Dr. Fujii had attempted to help as many patients as he could. However, his medical equipment had been broken, forcing him to work slower and less efficiently.
2. Father Klensorge also made attempts to help others. Theses victims were mainly fellow preists.
3. Mrs. Nakamura dug her three children out of the ruble of her house. She also provided bandages to Mrs. Nakamoto to help her and her baby. She then moved her children to her neighborhood’s safe zone, a park.
4. Dr. Sasaki helped victims by giving them medical attention and water. He then found his wife and they both split up to help the wounded.
5. Mrs. Sasaki arrives in town just as the bomb is dropping. She finds her children under debris and digs untill she finds her baby. Then, she finds her husband and the two of them split up to help the wounded.
6. Rev. Tanimato was with other preists. He them ventured to the other side of town in hopes of finding his family and church. There, he saw them suffering and injured. Before he could get to the church, fires forced him back.
Even though Dr.Fujii had broken and lost equipment, i still think he did great and help many people and familys to be safe
1. Dr. Fuji was busy trying to help the wounded people by wrapping them in bandages. Though everything was so cluttered around his storeroom, that most of the medications and equipment had been broken or spilled.
2. Father Kleinsorge was also trying to help the wounded, but he mainly focused on helping fellow priests. He also tended to people by the park, though he didn’t have the right equipment, so he was very little help.
3.Mrs, Nakamura took her children into the street but then went back into the wreckage of her home to get clothes for her children. She then took them to the park, the safe-zone for her naighborhood.
4.Dr. Sasaki was also bandaging people and giving them water. He was then trying to find his wife and found her with his infant. They separated so Dr. Sasaki could go help as many more people as possible.
5. Miss Sasaki just arrived home from another town just as the bomb drops, her and her children were trapped under a pile of debris. She finds her baby a half hour later and meets up with her husband to soon after leave him.
6. Rev. Tanimoto was with other priests most of the time he left to find his family and church nearby. He sympathized the injured and was curious how he remained unharmed, but on his way to his church, numerous fires broke out and forced him backwards.
I still don’t understand which one is Mrs. Sasaki and which one is Miss Sasaki. Can anyone explain?
Ok Mark, I’ll explain. MISS Sasaki is one the 6 main stoy-tellers in this book. She is the one who was at her office job when the bomb went off. She was then trapped under a bookself because of the exposion. MRS. Sasaki is Doctor Sasaki, another one of the 6 experince-telling people of the novel. She is of little purpose in his story as of now when she is only mentioned after the bomb to help the injuried.

Dr. Fujii along with Dr. Kanda, and Dr. Machii helped as many people as they could with the very little tools and equipment they had left.
Father Klensorge also helped people, but many of them were other priests and people who were in the mission house.
Mrs. Nakamura took her children to the safe zone in her neighborhood which is the park, luckily her children didn’t have any major injuries.
Dr. Sasaki Gave people water and bandaged them, he lost his wife during the explosion, but he found her later then they split up again to help the injured.
Mrs. Sasaki arrived home around the time the bomb dropped and found all of her children under wreckage from the bomb. She then starts digging to only find her baby, later she meets up with her husband and leaves.
Rev. Tanimoto was with the other preists, he traveled to find his church ans his family, but fires prevent him from continuing.
I liked how you said that Dr. Fujii helped others even with the tools he had. That showed that, even in times of crisis, he is willing to do what he needs to help others.
1. Dr. Frujii was trying to help everyone injured that he could. It was difficult, though, since all of his equipment was damaged and spread and scattered about.
2. Father Klensorge also tried to assist fellow priests and others who were effected by the disaster.
3. Mr. Nakamura helped her children with no sever injuries to the safe zone in her neighborhood, which is the park, and cared for her children.
4.Dr. Sasaki helped other injured people by bandaging and giving them water and then searched for his lost wife who he found a little later and his son. They then decided to go separate ways to help other victims.
5. Mrs. Sasaki arrived home just when the bomb was dropping and found her child piled under debris and dug until she finally found her baby and found her husband across the river and then they depart not long after.
6. Rev. Tanimato was with other priests at the time and he went across the bridge to find his family who were all injured and they tried going to church but were stopped by the fire. They were forced to go back,
Your answers sounded almost exactly like mine maybe a few minor differences… Good job!
1.Dr. Fuji tried to help people around him. He helped people taking refuge under the bridge, the two women pinned to the timbers of his private hospital. his equipment was scattered but he managed to help with bandaging of patients.
2. Father Kleinsorge tries helping people passing by like a lady whose husband was buried in burning wreckage and helped people like Mr. Fukai out of wreckage or people that had been buried.
3. Mrs. Nakamura helps her children from the wreckage unharmed with only minor bruises. She then takes them to the safe area to help keep them safe and together.
4.Mr. Sasaki went to help the injured patients, nurses and doctors at Red Cross hospital but was overwhelmed by the amount of people needing care so his mission was just to make sure that people were okay and didn’t bleed to death or get infected by the burns and excessive amounts of raw flesh.
5. Mrs. Sasaki was trapped under book shelves, books and a beem lying on top of her but waited for someone to help her out because she heard people walking by but a boy that promised to help said if she was unable to get her self out then no one would come. Eventually someomen came to help her out and take her to the safe area.
6.Rev. Tanimato fearful for his family and church ran across ton but was stopped by buildings and the fire so was forced to take a longer route. Along the way he helped those who were trapped because many just walked by. He helped them because he was a christian and felt it was his duty to help those in need. After meeting his wife along the way he decided to carry water to those burned and bleeeding.
I like how you were the first one to tell who Ms. Sasaki was and what happened to her. Everybody seemed to have been confused with MRS. Sasaki, who is Dr. Sasaki’s wife, and Ms. Sasaki who was told to have NO relation to Dr. Sasaki in the first chapter.
My answers were somewhat like yours except mine were shorter and yours were well thought out..
Rev. Tanimoto- Reverend Tanimoto, after being with fellow priests and searching for his family, he watched as fires broke loose and thought of why he was unharmed while others were. He tried to help others, though of fires, he wasn’t able to do much.
Mrs. Nakamura- Mrs. Nakamura rescued her three children from the wreckage of her house before she helped her neighbors. She also went back into her house to get things for her children and to help her neighbors. Later, she and her children traveled to Asano Park, an evacuation area.
Father Kliensorge- Father Kliensorge met up with other priests after the explosion. He later tried to help the people in Asano Park.
Dr. Fujii- Dr. Fujii helped many injured people as he could, but he couldn’t help them all because his equipment was either –or both – broken or scattered.
Dr. Sasaki- As soon as the explosion was over; Dr. Sasaki went for bandages that he used on himself and on the injured people in the Red Cross. He also helped the people who wandered into the Red Cross, injured from the explosion.
Miss Sasaki- For the first three hours, she was unconscious. She awoke to the pain of her crushed left leg and was always going in and out of consciousness and awareness. She was later rescued by men and was taken to a safe place.
Who do you think offered the most help?
1. Dr, Sasaki helps others by giving them watering and bandaging them ,etc. He is looking for his wife, but later finds them with his infant son. His son and wife leave and Sasaki goes to help more people.
2. Dr.Fujii help the most people he possibly could. I was difficult because all of the equipment was broken or scattered around.
3. Mrs. Sasaki just arrived home after the bombing. She helped her children out of all of the debris.
4. Father Kleinsorge help people, like Dr. Fujii, but helped mostly priests.
5. Mrs. Nakamura helped her children out of the debris, nearly unharmed. She also got items from her house to help the neighbors as well.
6. Reverend Tanimoto was with his fellow priest, and then went to go find his family. His family was serously injured and they were prevented from going to the church.

Tyler, i think that Dr.Fujii helped the most. Even thought many others help as many people as they could, Dr.Fujii went all out to bring people to safety.
I really like your answers, Jessica. They’re really descriptive and they give me a better understanding of each character. I think that each of them were very caring towards their family and others around them that got effected by the bombing.
In immediately after the bomb drops, Reverand Tanimoto took a woman and her child to grammar school that doubled as a hospital in the event of an emergency. He then preceded to climb up a hill that overlooked all of Hirosima. He saw distruction not only in in his part of Hirosima, but over the whole city. He rushes into the city to save his family, but the flames blocked his path. Mrs. Nakamura immediately rescued children after the bomb fell. She dressed them up with bundles of clothes packed for an emergency. She then took them to the safe zone which was the local park. Father Wilhelm Kleinsorge helped other fathers in the mission. He finds his room in disarry, but the paper mache suitcase is standing neatly in the doorway, with all the money inside it intact. He later helps Mr. Fukai out of a burning building. Dr. Fuji freed himself from the wreackage. His office was no longer on the banks of the Kyo river, it was in the Kyo river. Dr. Fujii and Dr. Machii theorized that it was a molotov flower basket that dropped on the city because so many had burns. They then helped unpin two nurses. Dr. Sasaki was the sole unijured doctor on the red cross staff. He tried to treat the many patients flooding the hospital, but his medical supplies were in disarray. Mrs. Sasaki hovered between conciousness and unconciousness for about three hours. Some men finally come to help her and sent up a lean-to for her.

Right after the bomb, Reverend Tanimoto found an injured woman and child and took them to a school, which had many people in it waiting for help. He then found a high point in the city to look over the rest of Hiroshima, and saw that basically the entire city was completely ruined. He knew he had to save his family in the city, but when he tried to run to them the fire blocked him out. Mrs. Nakumara finds all of her children in the mess and pulls them out. She then wraps them in blankets so they’re not cold. Mrs. Hataya, a neighbor, invites her to run away to Asano Park with her, and she follows along. Father Kliensorge helped the injured fathers and other people throughout the mission. He went to a room to get a personal briefcase that contained money belonging to the mission. The money was still alive. He also helped Mr. Fukai, a crazy dude, out of a burning building. Dr. Fujii fist got out of the mess he was stuck in. In his undies, he ran over to the Kyo River. His hospital started on the banks of the Kyo River; now it was in the river. On the bridge, he talked to a man about how the city got bombed. They then helped two nurses that were stuck. Dr. Sasaki was the only uninjured doctor at the hospital, and most of the city came to be treated. He couldn’t handle it all at once though, with too many people and not enough supplies. Mrs. Sasaki basically was in between conciousness and unconciousness for a long time, but finally some men came to help her wake up.
Very descriptive. I find it funny how the hospital was now in the Kyo river. But, this would also cause some logistical problems down the line because getting everything, especially the polluting medicines, out of the river would be tough.

As soon as the bomb had hit and made its destruction, the Reverend Tanimoto helped the innocent out by taking care of them or leading them to others who could help. It is then he decided to leave for a second to see the destruction from a better view. It was much worse than he ever expected. He then hears a Mr. Matsuo, asking if he was alright. Tanimoto then remembers something that was still in the ruble of the destruction: his family. In so he rushed in the city to try and help them. Mrs. Nakamura is next as she wakes up underneath the remains of her house. Myeko, her youngest, was still conscience and requested help from his mother, in which she finally did. After a while, she managed to rescue all of her children from the wreckage and decided to put protective gear onto them. From there, a surviving neighbor, Mrs. Hataya, requests that they all head into the near-by park. The next story is the Father Kleinsorge, as he is only in his underwear and is black and bruised. He and another priest managed to find some of the other priests, as some were unhurt while others were bound to die. After helping others unlike the priests, he gathered some precious items from his room and sent out to Dr. Fujii’s hospital. Speaking of witch, the doctor found the hospital now IN the Kyo River as only moments ago it was on the banks of it. Noticing that other Doctor still lived, they started to discuss how Americans bombed Hiroshima. As people came in handfuls to get relief and the fires were spreading across the city, Fujii and the others decided to wait out the fires in the Kyo River. Continuing with the doctors, since he was totally unhurt, Doctor Sasaki used all the medicine and bandages that weren’t destroyed in the explosion to the patients that Dr. Fujii could not handle. However, Sasaki couldn’t handle it either as once his job helping those injured in the bombing was over, he quit his profession as a doctor. As for Miss Sasaki, she was still at her workplace, trapped under the bookshelf for what she estimated 3 hours. As she went from being t conscience to not, she was finally rescued by some male co-workers.

In conclusion to bring closure to what all the characters were like together they were all pretty much phased by what happened and they were pretty oblivious at first.
Dr.Fujii- he tried to help others to the best of his ability, though most of his equipment was destroyed
Father Klensorge- he made an effort but mostly helped other priests.
Mrs.Nakamura- She took her kids to the neighborhood park where they were safe and they weren’t exposed to any major damage within themselves.
Dr.Sasaki- He got supplies and bandages to use on himself and the other injured people at Red Cross or who walked in injured.
Miss Sasaki- was at home when the bombing happened for three hours she was left to suffer but was finally helped.
Rev.Tanimoto- He wandered around looking for his family. When fires broke out he tried to help but fires limited his ability.
I find it interesting how Father Klensorge was a preist, and he almost exclusively saved other priests. It’s a bit ironic.
Isn’t father Klensorge from gremany? So I thought that he would have a little bit of a different mind set. But I didn’t notice that. It is ironic.

I think you may have repeated information in the wrong character, miss sasaki had a badly broken leg, and was stuck in a lean to with some other badly hurt workers.
All the characters that survived the bomb attack were all doing their daily routines having no idea that a bomb would be dropped on Hiroshima. After the bomb dropped, the survivors did the following:
1. Dr. Fujii try to help every patient he could get to although most of his equipment was broken and scattered around the floor. The process was very slow and difficult but he tried the best he could.
2. Father Kleinsorge also helped people like Dr. Fujii but he mainly revolved around helping priests but later on, he tried to help the people in Asano Park.
3. Mrs. Nakamura saved her children from the wreckage and brought them to a safe place in their neighborhood. The good part was that her children had no serious injuries, just a couple bruises.
4. Dr. Sasaki wanted to help the injured pantients but got very overwhlmed by the amount of people needing help. Therefore, he healed them by giving them water and bandaging them up.
5. Miss Sasaki was just returning home as the bomb was dropped finding her children piled in debris. She then finds her baby and her and her husband depart somewhere away from their destroyed home.
6. Rev. Tanimato was with all the other priests and he went searching for his family as he was thinking how come he survived and not the others. For that reason, he tried to help the others in the fire but he couldnt do much.
The way you started made me feel like i was watching the beginning parts of Law and Order, and i read the rest very seriously inside my head. good work Schram, good work
Yes Hannah did an excellent job describing what the characters did and that beginning part made it more interesting to read.
Mrs. Nakamura: Uncovered her children from the debris of their former house, and salvaged clothing, and her dead husbands sewing machine(which she put in the concrete water tank of their home). She then took her children and guided them towards safer areas in Asano Park.
Miss Sasaki:Her leg was badly broken after a large book case fell atop her leg and she was unable to continue with the others toward safer areas, so stayed behind with two other badly injured people.
Rev. Tanimoto:Ran into the ruins of Koi in order to find his family and see the condition of his church. He met up with the other priests that were with father Kleinsorge and others from the neighborhood association.
Dr. Sasaki: Helped the injured that flowed into the hospital, and was the only uninjured doctor out of the 6 that survived in his building. He treated only those who were in need of immediate care and managed as well as he could without proper materials to assist him.
Father Kleinsorge: Staying with his fellow priests, Kleinsorge carried a hysteric Mr. Fukai to a safe zone and assisted others along the way
Dr. Fuji: After fleeing to the river to escape the fire and an injured shoulder, Dr. Fuji and his two remaining nurses went to his families home in Ushida.

i find it wonderful, how they all helped to care for eachother even if they didnt know them.
I know! It’s usally every man for him self, but no! Everyone is helping out alot.

-Mrs. Sasaki got home from another town just in time for the bomb to hit she finds her children under debris and digs untill she finds her baby. she then meats up with he husband and the depart.
-Mrs. Nakamura took her children to the safe zone in her neighborhood which is the park, luckily her children didn’t have any major injuries.
It’s horrible that most of the medical equipment was destroyed by the bomb. So manyy more lives could have been saved.
It’s good that at least a few people were able to help others. So many lives could have been additionally lost if people like Reverend Tanimoto and Dr. Fujii.
1- Reverend Tanimoto carried water to the injured at a Shinto shrine. He hopped onto a boat that took him to Asano Park. He found another boat to carry the severely injured and did this for several hours. When the fire was close, he helped beat the fire out. After a storm had passed, he began ferrying people again.
2- Mrs. Nakamura made her way out of the rubble and found her children immediatly after the explosion. She searched for some clothes and left to Asano Park. After her arrival, some planes flew overhead and she had to take the white clothing off of her children, hiding them under an umbrella. When Father Kleinsorge asked her to join them on leaving, she had declined so he said he would come back the following day.
3- Father Kleinsorge, tried to patch up Father Schiffer’s cut and, afterwards, found his old military uniform. He was unsuccessful in finding a woman’s husband and later forced Mr. Fukaii to leave from his home. They decided to take refuge in Asano Park. After beating out flames for two hours, he had to add more bandages to Father Schiffer’s head. He later left, invitning Mrs. Nakamura to join, to a shelter and ate, sharing the food with those around him.
4- Dr. Fujii managed to escape the hospital, also in his underwear, and the wind got to be unbearable so he made his way underneath in water. He saved some nurses from the hospital and returned to the river. He crouched low and waded along the edge with his two surviving nurses, making their way towards Asano Park. He was ashamed of his appearance and later went to his parental house. They found some first-aid supplies on the way, using it to fix each other.
5- Dr. Sasaki was uninjured at the Red Cross hospital and immediatly went for bandages, using them to help the cheif surgeon. After, he tended to patients and other nurses in the hospital while wearing another nurse’s glasses. Soon people from outside came in and he worked as best he could to help the most wounded.
6- Miss Sasaki was pinned to the floor under a fallen bookcase, in terrible pain, and believed from her knee down on her left leg to be missing. Someone finally came to rescue her but the man needed assistance. Several people got her out later and she learned her leg wasn’t broken but severly hurt. She couldn’t leave with the others to an air-raid shelter until a man made a lean-to sort of thing and she was mobile.

1. Dr. Fujii tried to help whoever he could, with difficulty since most supplies was lost/destroyed.
2. Father Kleinsorge tried to help many, but mainly the preists.
3. Mrs. Nakamura brought her kids to the park, and her children didnt have any serious injuries.
4. Dr. Sasaki brought water to people and then bandaged wounds.
5. Miss Sasaki had just came back from out of town, she digs her children up from the rubble and debris.
6. Reverend Tanimoto stayed wiith the other priests.
I think that out of all six, Miss Sasaki was in one of the worst postions during the bombing-physically. I also believe that Reverend Tanimoto was in one of the worst postions during the bombing- mentally.
For the most part, everyone was shocked and confused on what had just happened in that morring.
Mr.Tanimoto helps some people and finds his wife and baby. Then he goes to help more people.
Mrs.Nakamura is mostly consured about her children. Nothing is serrious. She tries to care for them to the best of her abilities.
Father Kleinsorge helps the people at his places and losses a friend of his on his way to the park.
Dr. Fujii helps people slowly.
Dr. Saski helps people then chooses to only help those who are wounded very badly. He also gets “machinal” on his work and starts to mass produce it.
Miss Sasaki is stuck under books and can’t get help till after the second team of people come to her resuce.
Over all, everyone is helping those they know and doctors are swarmed with work.
I felt really bad for Dr. Fujii and Dr. Saski. They were doing their best to help the wounded but with the situation, they were very little help and if the situation were a little different maybe a lot more could have been done to help.
Dr.Fujii- he tries helping people, but with his eqipment damage he can do very little.
Father Kleinsorge- also tried to help the wounded, but he mainly focused on helping fellow priests
Mrs. Nakamura- took her children into the street, then went back into the wreckage of her home to get clothes for her children. She then took them to the park, the safe-zone for her neighborhood
Dr. Sasaki- bandaging people and giving them water. He was also trying to find his wife and found her with his infant
Mrs. Sasaki- arrives in town just as the bomb is dropping. She finds her children under debris and digs until she finds her baby. Then she finds her husband. The two of them split up to help the wounded
Rev. Tanimato- with other preists he walked into town in hopes of finding his family and church. There, he saw them suffering and injured. Before he could get to the church, fires forced him back
I find it almost inspiring that people gave up so much to help others, such as Dr. Sasaki and his wife. After so much, they didn’t even stop and talk.
1) Dr.Fuji – After escaping from the hospital, he attempted to help, and helped as much as he could. His medical supplies however were almost all lost or broken.
2) Father Kleinsorge – He also attempted to help people, but stuck mainly to his priest friends. He then went on to helping a few people in Asano Park.
3) Mrs. Nakamura – She brings her children to a much safer area, the local park. There she makes sure that they have no injuries that would affect them.
4) Dr. Sasaki – He immediately went to go help people at the Red Cross hospital he was at by grabbing the bandages and wounding up people.
5) Miss Sasaki – She was just coming back home as the bomb was being dropped. Upon coming to the place where her house once was, she found her kids trapped under the debris. She helped them and left with her husband.
6) Reverend Tanimato – He was panicking yet being thankful that he could survive this catastrophe, while looking for his very own family and church. After a while, he went on to go help other people in the fires.
1.)Dr. Sasaki- He went to the hospital where he helped bandage and treat injured people. He ends up only treating the very badly injured.
2.)Mrs. Nakamura- She made her children her first priority. She took them to the ‘safe zone’ which was the park.
3.)Dr. Fuji- He used what he could to help injured people, though, almost all of his equipment had been broken.
4.)Reverand Tanimato- He walked around with the other priests hoping to find people he knew.
5.)Miss Sasaki- Once she reached the place her home once stood, she had to dig her children out of the rubble.
6.)Father Kleinsorge- He focused on helping the other priests he was with.
