TAP Adventures is heading to Southern Europe in 2019!!!

The TAP Adventures crew is very excited to announce our 2019 adventure!  We will be heading to a part of Europe none of us has visited before, and we are super excited to share that adventure with you.  In June of 2019, we will be heading to The Balkans – a region in Southern Europe right on the Adriatic Sea.  While we’re there, we will travel through four different countries – Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia – to experience the history, language, art, music, environment, food, and people of the Balkans!!!

This will be our 13th student adventure, but the first time we are focusing on these amazing and historic countries.  In 2008, we spent 12 days touring Greece, which is pretty close, but this time will be a totally unique experience.   In the past 10 years, over 400 students have traveled with us to places like Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Japan, England, Poland, South Africa, France, and Peru!  Now we’re adding one more adventure to that list.  Check the FAQ, About TAP, TAP Trips, and TAP Teachers sections of this sight for more information about our program.

While in Southern Europe, our students will participate in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure customized just for our group.  The kids will get to explore the beauty of Budapest, Hungary – where we’ll see what life was like on the other side of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.  Next, we’ll travel through the Hungarian countryside into Slovenia – visiting the capital city, Ljubljana, one of the greenest cities in Europe and home to one of the coolest castles you’ll ever see, as well as participate in a cultural music night.  Then we’ll make our way south into Croatia where we’ll travel along the Adriatic coast for some of the most spectacular views of nature you’ll ever get – beaches, waterfalls, Roman palaces, farmland, and forest.  We’ll wind up in Dubrovnik (used for the TV Game of Thrones as King’s Landing) and Split, where we’ll walk on ancient city walls, visit beautiful palaces, and ancient ruins.  Finally, we’ll end our adventure by visiting Bosnia and exploring one last culture for our last few days.

All in all, we think with the culture, the history, the food, and the people of four totally unique countries unlike anywhere TAP has visited before – this may be our best adventure yet.

While preparing for our adventures, students will learn about history and culture, help write our student guide book, become published authors, and have the chance to earn college credit.

• To apply to be a part of the trip, you must be a 7th-10th grade student in the Minooka/Plainfield/Oswego area.
